Parents and families need access to resources that can help them address their students’ behavioral and mental health needs. Below, we’ve listed a few resources to help understand services available and determine which services best meet the needs of students and their families.
Navigating Behavioral Health in DC Schools
Caring for your behavioral health is an important part of your regular health care. Focusing on our behavioral health is a step we can all take to strengthen and improve our communities. "Good" behavioral health does not equate to a constant state of happiness, but instead living well and finding ways to cope despite life's challenges. The purpose of this toolkit is to provide Washington, DC families, teachers, and students with foundational information regarding behavioral health and provide a starting point to use in seeking care and resources in the national capital area.

Don't Mute Mental Health
The goal of this series is to create additional conversations around mental wellness and our students, provide guidance regarding the systems of mental health care in DC, and explore the stigma around mental health especially in black and brown communities. Join us as we have conversations with students, clinicians, school based staff and parents about their experiences with the DC school based mental health system.
